Spike, the Intrepid Houseplant

A few days before moving into my sophomore-year housing, I bought a houseplant at the good old Marietta Kroger. I didn't expect the little snake plant to last long, or even make it through the ride to DC, but I digress.

Little Spike chloro-filled our hearts with joy (see what I did there?), bringing a much-needed dose of nature (read: life) to the dorm. Spike can go without water for months on end, which I know because I was a terrible mother to the foliage. Now, some of his fronds have begun to sag, especially the leaves towards the back. This gets way cooler when you stop calling it fern death and start calling it a plant mullet.

I refuse to be in denial about his condition, and I want Spike to be as comfortable in his final days as possible. This entails me giving him the leftovers from my water bottle every once in a while. Spike will be dearly missed, and also, I have officially become Liz Lemon.
