Lucky Girl

It all started a few weekends ago, when I was standing with some friends at a townhouse party. A pingpong ball from a nearby game rolled towards my feet, and I picked it up and threw it over to the people playing.

The people did not catch the ball, but one of the solo cups did. I got a lot of stares. Still couldn't see the table, and had no idea that I'd sank the ball until somebody told me. Let the record show that I am terrible at the game (which shall remain nameless). So this was a pretty big moment.

From there, things only got luckier. It was as if the universe was thanking me for that one and- let's be honest- probably, my only instance of party-game greatness.

My housing group got moved from a Henle to a Nevils, I got to meet my Congressman an introduce him at a meeting, the weather's gotten prettier which would have happened anyway, but don't rain on my pong parade, Dip Ball, found a place I want to apply for a Fulbright to, classes got easier that's not true but let's call it wishful thinking, my friends are all doing well, I met my coworkers for the summer and they're awesome, my current bosses are letting me help name a new coffee blend Townhouse Blend, anyone?, Compass got a huge donation and some serious press coverage to boot, was front row for Shwayze at the spring concert, just this morning I figured out how to fix my phone, and in a few days I get to walk on a plane, walk off a plane, walk into a stadium, and watch one of my LaxBro's games with my family.

In short, I am unbelievably blessed. It is as if a 99-cent plastic sphere went right in the solo cup where it's supposed to be, and I know that I am right where I am supposed to be. Conclusion: We are all ping-pong balls in God's hand as He throws a massive rager in the sky. Deep. Might have to share that one with the Jesuits.
