Stalking the dressing room!
I was this far away from the stage, and may or may not have mouthed the words "I Love You!" at Cisco Adler.
Friday night- Dip Ball
- Getting all dressed up, and seeing everybody else all dressed up
- Taking pictures of all the fancy-schmancyness!
- Snarfing down Wisey's in Healy with everybody in formal wear
- The National Museum of Women in the Arts, which is completely gorgeous
- Seeing a man in full drag, except not like a gown which would have been classy-drag, if there's such a thing, but in a stretchy strapless minidress that's not even okay if you're a girl!
- Meeting the Ambassador from Uzbekistan, and discovering that we both love Las Vegas
- Watching a bff teach the diplomats how to dougie
- Truffles on a stick!
Saturday night- Spring Concert
- Bouncing the sound booth with two galpals
- Qdoba chips in the volunteer room
- Nicholas, the hipster with a chin piercing who asked for a cigarette, danced by himself for awhile, told me he was with the band and had a spot for me in a van (we checked: there was no Nicholas to be found on the master list of permitted persons) sketch! Also, did not get in the van. Not even close. Never saw a van.
- Being front row for Shwayze and Cisco Adler
- Cleaning up their dressing room (yeah, volunteerism...) and seeing what these guys eat. Spoiler alert: It involves Frosted Mini Wheats and ham. Editor's note: that's just nasty.
This whole weekend was just so great all around. I'd never thought I'd meet and Uzbekistani official or party in a museum or bounce a soundbooth or anything like that- I feel SO lucky to have all these great memories, and even luckier to have great friends who made this weekend's events so much fun. GEORGETOWN LOVE!!!!
