I dreamed some pretty strange stuff last night. There's nothing really here to be funny about, but this was what I dreamt up, and I think I acted some of it out, too, because when I woke up my bed was all messed up and my back hurt really bad. If someone wants to analyze this...please do! Would love to know why I'm dreaming up this stuff.
1. My roommate had an ice-skating birthday party. We get there and I'm a pretty good skater, but it turns out my skates didn't have blades. So I go up to get some bladed skates. I wipe out pretty bad, and end up with a loose tooth and some really awful splinters in my hand. Lo and behold, they have a clinic. I'm in the clinic waiting room when I meet another girl from Marietta. She's from a part I've never heard of, though. Concerning the splinters, I decide to take matters into my own hands and pull out a few strands of pinestraw that are several inches long. It hurts something awful as I pull them out. When it's my turn to be seen by the doctor, he doesn't give me an exam but instead hands me a pack of DVDs. I think they are Bollywood films. He tells me that I must bring them back tomorrow. My tooth is still loose and I'm getting frustrated. The dream ends.
2. My housemates and I return from winter break only to find that we are moving into a newer, better version of our apartment. It holds nine people and has a spiral staircase stretching three stories up. We're all running through, choosing our rooms. I'm a little tardy to the party and all the first-story rooms have been claimed so I end up crawling up this staircase (it's too small to stand in) until I reach the top. This is where I realize that the place has a view of the ocean. The water is clear and calm and I decide I want that room, even though it has no furniture. I'm pretty excited I got this "penthouse suite" and I get to see the ocean every day. At this point, I see my next-door neighbors out on their patio. They seem nice, and they're walking towards me, but I decide to go back downstairs. The staircase has shrunk and I'm crunching up my whole body so I can fit in it. The dream ends.
I woke up kind of sad to be in a place where I can't see the ocean. Then I checked for the tooth I dreamt had come loose - still there, still solid. That was a relief.
